Fundraising Walk for the Construction of a New KG Block

Rotary Club of Accra-Spintex, with the Rotaract Club of Regional Maritime University and friends on September 21 walked in aid of Old Lashibi TMA Basic School.

The 8.5 km walk, in collaboration with Decathlon, started at the Junction Mall at Nungua at 6am through the Spintex Road and back to the starting point.

The objective of this health walk was to raise the outstanding US$194,152 of the US$257,000 needed for the construction of a kindergarten block for the Old Lashibi TMA Basic School.

The state-of-the-art building, when completed, will consist of a four-classroom block, 14 toilets, ICT Centre, Library, a health centre and three offices. It is to replace the wooden structure in which the children used to study which was later destroyed by a rainstorm.

The Club president, Rotarian Edem on behalf of the club appealed to the general public to donate towards the school project. Donations can be made through the short code: *395*11# on all networks.
